StoryWalk in Algona

ECNCI is pleased to have been able to provide Literacy Grant funds to the Iowa State Extension Office in Kossuth County for their recent StoryWalk in Algona. Read more below:

“On Saturday, June 5th, over 50 adults and children participated in our agriculture themed StoryWalk®! The event, hosted in partnership with the Algona Area Chamber of Commerce, was fun-filled and full of learning.

  • Kossuth County Farm Bureau board members spoke about soy by-products and soybean farming

  • Delicious soy goodies were offered by Laura Soybeans

  • Children had the opportunity to participate in a Mighty Soybean activity, courtesy of Early Childhood North Central Iowa and Kossuth County Farm Bureau

  • Children received a free coloring book, courtesy of the Iowa Soybean AssociationEach family received a free copy of the featured book, courtesy of Early Childhood North Central Iowa and Iowa Agriculture Literacy Foundation
